Loved across the world, Bandai is the leading manufacturer and licensee of some of the most popular brands in children’s toys and interactive entertainment. A global player, Bandai owns brands such as Tamagotchi, Gundam, and Pac Man.
Bandai approached Koozai for support with designing, building, and launching a new ecommerce website for its UK audiences. Requiring a totally new design, Bandai wanted a website that embodied their brand, appealed to their target audiences, supported a functional online store, and worked to support their SEO. They also needed support in launching the website, with aspects of On Page content, and in ensuring that the site was optimised to rank in Google and other popular search engines.
With a very clear brand identity and multiple stakeholders involved, building a new website for Bandai required a cross-team approach that utilised the expertise of Koozai’s website development and SEO teams. The challenge facing our web design team was to create a site design that addressed their marketing goals, appealed to all stakeholders, and illustrated their brand identity.
We started with a meeting between Bandai’s in-house marketing team and our website development, design, and SEO specialists to ensure we understood the key goals, audiences, and timescales for the site. Once priorities were agreed, our website dev team got to work on designing and building the site, working closely alongside our SEO specialists to ensure it was built with search and usability in mind.
Once the plans and demos for the site were approved, our dev team built and developed the site, keeping the client informed throughout the process. Providing several opportunities for feedback and amends, we took on board suggestions from multiple stakeholders and built these into the designs to ensure that best practices were followed and balanced with creativity and a design that reflected the brand identity. Once ready to launch, our SEO team worked with the client and our dev team to ensure on page content and the technical aspects of the site were on point, enabling it could rank competitively in search engines.
Bandai were delighted with the website design, which launched and ranked competitively in Google from the start thanks for our SEO team’s early involvement. Not only were the Bandai team and their stakeholders delighted with the site, but changes to the site and our SEO work helped drive a significant uplift in SEO performance, with estimated organic traffic rising 42% within six months.
